Alan Thordsen is looking for someone who might be interested in training to become a prototype
modelmaker/machinist. This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic
person with Computer/CNC/Manual skills.
Here's some details of what he has (and pictures below).
- Software: Surfcam, Solidworks, Vellum
- CNC: 3 Fadal VMCs
- Manual: Bridgeport, lathe, tool grinder, lots of small tools
- Place: 2700 sq. ft., small spray booth, sunny South City
- Work: Prototype modelmaking, short production machining, custom motorcycle parts, custom chopper building
- Clients: medical product developers, industrial design firms, other model shops
- Specialty: machining extremely difficult geometries, quick turnover, BBQing
- Materials: Standard plastics, exotic plastics, aluminum, some stainless (not much).
